Below are the GetSkinHelp Frequently Asked Questions.
What is GetSkinHelp?
GetSkinHelp is a telemedicine platform that connects you with licensed doctors and nurse practitioners through an online platform. Together you will determine the best course of action, whether it is an in-person visit or continued monitoring through follow-ups (which can also happen through the platform)
Do not hesitate to email us at info@getskinhelp.com if you have any other questions.
What is Skinopathy AI technology?
It is Canadian-made artificial intelligence that can help screen for a selection of skin diseases, including skin cancers, and is available only through the GetSkinHelp mobile app.
All you have to do is take a picture of your skin concern with a cellphone or tablet, and the Skinopathy AI will assess that skin concern into its top three most probable conditions.
However, Skinopathy AI does NOT offer a diagnosis. Diagnoses can only be provided by doctors and often require additional tests, like biopsies. Skinopathy AI is solely meant to be a screening tool that you can do at home.

We recommend that you first confirm with your provider that they will in fact cover the use of our services.

Do I need to submit any images? How many images do I need to submit?
Yes, we recommend submitting three clear and in-focus images.
- Image #1
Point your camera lens toward the area of your skin concern, about 30cm away, directly above the area in a way that also captures a discernible body part. - Image #2
Move your camera a bit tighter so that you can get a close-up. Re-focus the lens (if necessary) by tapping your phone screen right before you take the picture (and using the “3 second timer” trick). - Image #3
Have a 10-cent coin ready and place it next to your skin concern that can give us perspective.

Why must I first go through a general practitioner or nurse practitioner?
There are a few reasons:
- Many people think they need a specialist for their condition, when that is not always the case. You would be amazed what some healthcare practitioners can help with.
- Patients sometimes think they need a certain kind of specialist when they need a different kind. For example, when it comes to suspicious moles for skin cancer, it might be more prudent to go directly to a surgeon who can remove the suspicious lesion and have it biopsied right away, rather than first wait for a dermatologist to send you to a surgeon.
